Here's fashion news that you missed this January!
Collaborations, homages, and surprises. Here's the top three fashion news stories that you might've missed this January!
Welcome back, readers. January has been an eventful year for streetwear and fashion as of late. There have been a lot of highlights, new releases, collaborations, and changes to the industry as well. So much so that it would be hard to keep up with everything that is going on. So, I took the time to do some digging and uncover some of this month’s highlights so that you don’t miss out on what’s going on.
This article will go into some of January’s biggest highlights in fashion as well as some of the biggest collaborations. I did all the reading, so there won't be any unimportant information that you guys don't need. With that being said, let’s dive into the things that you might’ve missed: January 2025.
1) Daft Punk x PLEASURES collaborate & Pop-Up Store!
Daft Punk have had one hell of a career in music. They’ve released 8 albums (4 being studio albums) within the 28 years they’ve made music together. Although the duo split up in 2021, it seems that Daft Punk have been active in other ventures ever since.
Recently, Daft Punk linked up with the streetwear brand PLEASURES for what seems to be a new collection. The clothing brand posted a teaser on their Instagram, saying:
“Daft Punk is regarded as one of the most influential acts in music history. PLEASURES has worked with the iconic duo on a special collection featuring ready to wear, home goods, objects, and ephemera.”
No other information has been released about this collaboration. It seems like it will be released later this year. So, keep a lookout for Daft Punk x Pleasures!
2) Stone Island & Carhartt release their Year of the Snake collections!

Lunar New Year is celebrated on the first new moon on the lunar calendar. Funny enough, this year’s lunar new year starts today, Wednesday, 29th. Streetwear brands have begun to take part in the Lunar New Year celebrations. Stone Island & Carhartt are no exception. This year is the Year of the Snake. As part of the tradition, Stone Island & Carhartt have shown off their collections inspired by their own individual brands as well as the flair of the Lunar New Year.
Starting off with Stone Island, the brand showed off their collection, the “Year of the Snakes 025.” The collection consists of new jackets, pants, vests, hooded sweatshirts, crewneck sweatshirts, shorts, baseball caps, and a messenger bag. Their collection is available on their website for any Stone Island fans.
Moving on to Carhartt, they introduced their new year's collection with their own line inspired by the Lunar New Year. One of their highlight pieces is their Reversible Active Jacket, which is only available in Japan. It features faux green leather and can be worn inside-out to show the black diamond quilted liner. The piece is Japan-exclusive and is available on their web store (JP) as well as in their stores in Japan.
3) Pharrell Williams and Nigo team up on Paris Fashion Week!

Paris Fashion Week is one of the key highlights of French fashion. Being one of the four capitals of fashion, it’s no surprise that this hit the news big when Pharrell Williams and Nigo collaborated for Louis Vuitton.
Being that Pharrell Williams has been the creative director of Louis Vuitton Menswear since 2023, he decided to bring his long-time friend Nigo into the collection this season. Their friendship goes way back, something I covered in my earlier piece.
Paris Fashion Week kicked off on Tuesday, 21st, and Louis Vuitton’s segment was a show-stopper. The collection took inspiration from streetwear and dandyism, which could be seen in the variety of pieces they showed off. They presented pieces ranging from varsity jackets to tailored suits. A lot of the pieces paid homage to the styles of the early 2000s, and Pharrell & Nigo were not afraid to show it.
Overall, the show was definitely a highlight of the first day of Paris Fashion Week. Louis Vuitton seems to be more invested in streetwear, so keep your eyes out for their collection as time passes.
Key Takeaways:
January seems to be a month marked by homages, collaborations, and a look back in the past. Personally, I’m really looking forward to what this year will bring for streetwear. Keep your eyes out for more of our releases, and stay tuned for what February has to bring.
As always, stay true, stay laive.
